Langston Hughes

Langston Hughes was one of the most important poet’s and thinkers of the Harlem Renaissance The Harlem Renaissance was an African American movement in the 1920s that celebrated black life and culture Langston was born on February 1 1967 in Joplin Missouri. When Langston was little he would always right about being alone because he would always have to move to different places. Hughes was in a hotel restaurant in DC when he saw Lindsay he asked him to look at some of his poems and Lindsay was very impressed then a few weeks later in the magazine was his poem The weary blues Hughes died on May 22 1967 in New York and died of prostate cancer
